GORDON TOWN TRAIL
Bermuda Mount / Jack
Fruit Tree Village / Hope River

Discover small villages accessible only by foot. Find unusual
trees - Stinking Toe and JackFruit as well as Breadfruit, Ackee, Mango,
Coconut and Mountain Pride.The trail runs along Hope River with numerous
footbridges, waterfalls and swimming holes. Bathing suit and towel are
a must.
The hike begins at the Bermuda Mount Road (10 min.walk from SH) by the
UCC nursery. This road takes you into the residential community of Bermuda
Mount. Just 10 minutes down the road at the Ice Cream sign on left, bear
to left and soon you will see a marker that indicates your turn down to
Jack's Tree Village. Looking down to the left is Gordon Town.
It's approx. 1 hour to JackFruit Tree village - a large concrete house and paved road says you made it. There is a standpipe here and several shops where you might buy box juice or soda.
At Penfield Town Square you will find the trail which
is the old parochial road to Redlight.You will be crossing 4 footbridges,
everyone tempting you with cool pools and waterfalls; hang on till the
last bridge if you can. From here it is approx. 1-hour back to Strawberry
Hill.
