After Hurricane Gilbert destroyed the old Great House in 1988, Strawberry Hill was re-created preserving the original landscape and architecture of the old Georgian buildings.(See the damage)

Using a 250 strong crew of skilled, semi-skilled and apprenticed labour and a great management team, Strawberry Hill emerged as a combination of ideals and safe environmental practises allowing the views to remain uninterrupted and the full 6 acres to be developed.
