Accompong

Some of the most sacred history in Jamaica is found on this 1500 acre town owned by the Maroons. Founded by the leader Kajo, after remaining undefeated by the British, the Treaty awards the Town to the Maroons and their descendents in perpetuity.

Accompong or Trelawny Town

Though a modern town, Accompong has a 45 min tour to various sacred grounds or seals and a reproduction village. It also contains a small but informative museum with some interesting artifacts:

A wooden wash basin.

Asstd wicker baskets, seives and covers.

Ahanti Throne used at council meetings

Powder horns

Several hours should be spent here as the fundamentals of African survival during and after Slavery are hidden within the town and it's inhabitants
